REDUCED RATE - Two people can join the Thoreau Society Staff and several other campers for our August 2005 Expedition to Mount Kathadin in Baxter State Park (Maine)with this special package.
The winner will receive a camping space for 4 nights (Thursday - Sunday), 4 delicious meals all prepared on site for you, trail snacks, fun filled evenings by the fire, and special programs. There are always as many or as few hikes as you want to do, swimming, nature walks, or just curling up with a great book.
The winner will also receive a Princeton 150th Anniversary (Paperback) edition of Maine Woods, as well as a journal to record their own thoughts as they experience the areas Thoreau hiked and wrote about.
Special Instructions
Winners are responsible for providing their own transportation to and from the Campsite, camping gear and any food or beverages not included in the package.
The planned dates will be August 11-15 (Thursday - Monday), although the exact dates for the expedition will be determined in April, based on site availability from the Park.
The Thoreau Society can not predict the weather, and are not responsible for any cancellations due to extreme conditions.
