Description

This untitled work by Chaim Gross depicts people dancing and is a handsigned lithograph, numbered #174. This beautiful piece comes framed with acid-free double matting. Chaim Gross emigrated to the U.S. from Austria/Poland in 1921. Gross' work often depicts lively, naturalistic, often interlocking figure compositions. His first solo show was in March 1932 at Gallery 144 in Greenwich Village, and his work has been shown at many important galleries throughout the US and abroad, including the Whitney Museum of Art, the Smithsonian Museum, and the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Most known for his scupltures, his "Ballerina" now resides at the Brooklyn Museum of Art.
