Founded in 1936, The Institute of Contemporary Art is the oldest non-collecting contemporary arts institution in the United States. The ICA presented the first major Picasso exhibition in Boston in 1939, organized one of the first museum exhibitions of Andy Warhol in 1969 and continues today to support the newest art by the world's most innovative and inspired artists.
