The Gardner Museum is the remarkable achievement of Isabella Stuart Gardner who formed the collection, designed the building, and opened the Museum to the public in 1903. The stunning 15th-century Venetian-style palazzo contains three floors of galleries which open onto an interior, garden courtyard. The galleries are filled with paintings, sculpture, tapestries, furniture, and decorative arts from cultures spanning thirty centuries.
