The Jupiter String Quartet is donating a House Concert to the lucky winning bidder! This private concert entails approx. 1 hour (negotiable) of classical music at your home or other desired locale. This can be used for a recption, gathering, cocktail party, concert... Anything!
The Jupiter String Quartet, based in Boston, has performed to critical acclaim across the United States and abroad. They recently captured first prize in the prestigious 8th Banff International String Quartet Competition, as well as the Szekely prize for best performance of a Beethoven quartet. Their award will include the production of a debut CD, as well as an extended tour of Canada in the 2005-06 season. The quartet also received Grand Prize at the Fischoff National Chamber Music Competition in May of 2004-This prize will result in tours of the United States and Italy in the upcoming season.
The quartet's interpretations have also received warm reviews at a number of established chamber music series, including the Aspen Music School and Festival, Caramoor Festival, Great Lakes Chamber Music Festival, Honest Brook Music Festival, Salida (CO) Chamber Music Series, Tri-County Emerging Artists Concerts, and the Yellow Barn Music Festival. They have played in some of the world's most spectacular chamber music halls, including debut performances in Boston's Jordan Hall, New York's Weill Hall (at Carnegie Hall), and London's Wigmore Hall. The upcoming season will also feature their debut recitals at the Corcoran Gallery (in Washington, D.C.) and the Music in the Loft series in Chicago, as well as performances across the United States, Austria, France, and Italy.
