Fireflies Literacy Center offers small group enrichment classes to children aged 6 months to 12 years. Classes are designed to promote language development, literacy skills and a love of reading. Recipient can choose a class session (generally 1x a week for 6 weeks) that fits their child's age, needs, and interests. Some examples of classes offered are as follows: BABY SIGNS(R): Sign Language for hearing infants and toddlers; Phonological Fun: Games to promote phonological awareness (sound/letter recognition); Connect, Think and Communicate: Connecting to literature through discussion and hands-on activities; Build-A-Business: Create a unique product to 'sell'; and Writer's Workshops including Mystery Writing and other various engaging writing projects. Recipient will also receive a copy of Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince from Fireflies Children's Bookstore.
