Description

You are bidding on a copy of the Grateful Dead's most recent DVD release - "The Closing of Winterland," an historic show from Dec. 31, 1978 with lots of special guests and bonus material. Along with this is a limited edition poster relating to this release. The poster is signed by the artists, Alton Kelley & Stanley Mouse, and is number 22 of 500. Includes a certificate of authenticity.
Serigraph information: In 1978, Alton Kelley and Stanley Mouse created a poster for the Grateful Dead's New Year's Eve show, which would mark the closing of the venerable Winterland Arena in San Francisco. Taking their inspiration from one of the most recognizable and enduring symbols of the band and combining it with opening act the Blues Brothers and Winterland itself, they created the artwork: a Blue Rose in front of a wintry background. This particular piece was a true collaboration between Kelley and Mouse, with each contributing to both the distinctive lettering and the rose itself. The Blue Rose archival print reinterpretation is a limited edition serigraph of 500 pieces, signed and numbered by Alton Kelley and Stanley Mouse, and printed on acid free Coventry Rag 335 gram smooth paper.
