Description
You are bidding on an Official Major League Baseball autographed by Hideo Nomo #10, starting pitcher for the Los Angeles Dodgers. The baseball is signed in blue ink on the "sweet spot". ~~~~
Hideo quietly turned in another outstanding season in 2003. He won 16 games for the second straight season, finishing seventh in the National League. Hideo also placed fifth in batting average against (.223), sixth in both innings pitched (218.1) and ERA (3.09) and eighth in strikeouts (177). He pitched a complete-game shutout on opening day and hurled 20 quality starts in which he pitched at least six innings and gave up three earned runs or less. Hideo still utilizes the same unique, twisting, no-look windup that he did when he first broke in with the Dodgers. The combination of his unorthodox delivery and his fastball-splitter repertoire makes Hideo tough to hit. His fastball clocks in the low-90s and the splitter remains his strikeout pitch. A pioneer who proved that the top Asian stars could play in the U.S., Hideo broke in with the Dodgers in 1995, when he made the All-Star team, led the league in strikeouts and was chosen Rookie of the Year. After his blazing start, Hideo cooled off and played for five different teams since 1998, but he has recaptured his early glory. He went 43-29 including a no-hitter during Hideo-mania in his first three seasons with the Dodgers. In his last three years, Hideo has posted a 45-29 record.
