David Footer is well known among wildlife and fishing enthusiasts and conservationists all over the Northeast U.S. and Canada. The self taught artist and taxidermist still works full time at the age of 72, along side his wife, Polly and daughter, Julie who help him in his business.

In the Windham area, he is probably best known for his image of a landlocked salmon jumping free of the hook. Frye's Leap in the background indicates this could only be Sebago Lake.
