Description

"Smokey Joe" Petrali, thus named because of the cloud of dust he left behind him, was a young Italian-American who from a very young age displayed great talent on motorbikes. In 1918, at just 14, his name went down in motorcycle racing history for the first time when he won the Economy Run (a race where the winner went the most kilometers with the least petrol in the tank). Harley-Davidson signed him up as its official rider and he continued to notch up entries on the honours list; his collaboration with the Milwaukee Team also touched on new areas such as the design and development of new engines such as the Knucklehead.

Terra Cielo Mare is dedicating its watch from the Terra range to this great individual and his record. The unusual face set at 2:00 makes it perfect for reading off the time for those riding a bike.

The Joe Petrali, 47mm in diameter with a polished case that recalls the chroming of the legendary Harley Davidson, has an automatic ETA 2824 calibre movement with central seconds and a calendar at 5. The face features a Cloisonné superluminova image of the bike Smokey Joe used to set his record. The watch comes with a black leather strap with orange stitching, the institutional colours of Terra Cielo Mare and Harley-Davidson.

The base features a copper medal portraying Joe Petrali's bike and a note of the speed reached of 136 mph.
