The Silver Fox Steakhouse has arrived - - a younger sibling of Far North Dallas' famous III Forks. - - Beef is the thing here, with no fewer than nine steak options, plus the unusual item of a platter of U.S. prime short ribs. The house specialty is the prime bone-in rib eye – a pound and a quarter's worth. 

Silver Fox also offers three veal dishes and a rack of lamb. There are seafood choices, too, ranging from fried shrimp to scallops and Atlantic salmon. The ocean's bounty also figures heavily among the appetizers. Shrimp rémoulade actually resembles what you might find in New Orleans, its thick sauce heavily spiked with grainy Creole mustard. Other selections include crab cakes, bacon-wrapped scallops, and fried oysters. The seafood bisque was complex in flavor and particularly satisfying on a chilly evening.

The chocolate ganache cake had indeed been iced with a thick, fudgy chocolate ganache. The napoleon was splendid - - raspberries, blueberries and slices of kiwi pillowed in whipped cream and separated into layers by the thinnest sheets of crisp brown phyllo pastry.
