Description

Explore everyday life during the tumultuous events of the American Revolution. From 1770 to 1793 Isaac Jones operated this tavern "at the sign of the golden ball" for travelers on the busy Boston Post Road in Weston, MA. Today the Museum provides a rare and authentic look into 18th-century life. A.I.A. Preservation Architect Allen C. Hill has described the Golden Ball as "probably the most unusual and without question the most evocative house museum in New England...The Golden Ball is not your standard house museum; therefore, their tour is not the standard house museum tour."
Join Museum Director Dr. Joan Bines for a private tour for five of this unique museum, followed by gourmet box lunches donated by The Open Kitchen Cafe in Weston. You will also receive a copy of the book "The Tavern and the Tory: The Story of the Golden Ball Tavern" by Howard Gambrill and Charles Hambrick-Stowe.

Special Instructions

Tour and lunch available Monday-Saturday, by reservation. The Open Kitchen is located at 456 Boston Post Road in Weston (781) 899-3900 or theopenkitchen@mindspring.com
