Description

Come face to face with the paintings that sparked the American mural movement and see up-close 9,000 square feet of large-scale mural painting created by 19th century master John La Farge and his team of expert painters. You and a guest will join Trinity Church lead architect from Goody Clancy, Jean Carroon, to ascend the 90 feet of scaffolding leading to the Trinity interior tower. Jean will offer you a tour of Trinity's history, stories behind the murals, and up-to-the-minute news on the ongoing conservation of the murals. These paintings have not been touched since the 1950's and, once the scaffolding is removed in summer 2005, they likely will not be touched again for another 50+ years. Be the one to win this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity!

Special Instructions

Winning bidders must be physically capable and confident to climb the 90 feet of scaffolding stairs and should be very comfortable with heights. Winning bidders must also sign a release of liability before the climb and must wear appropriate footwear. Date for tour will be arranged between the months of January and May and must be mutually agreeable for winning bidder and Trinity.
