Description

One week stay at Gleann Gollaidh in Dornoch, Scotland.
Gleann Gollaidh (pronounced Glen Gully) is situated in the northern Scottish town of Dornoch which is in the Highlands on the east coast about an hour north of Inverness on the North Sea. Inverness is the closest airport. Dornoch is best known for its world famous golf course, Royal Dornoch, first laid out in the 17th century and now ranked 13th in the world. The town is built of yellow sandstone, has a cathedral that is 750 years old, a castle and is the capital of Sutherland, the largest county in the UK with the fewest number of residents! There are several hotels and many very good restaurants in the town, as well as charming shops. Dornoch is also home to the Carnegie Club, housed in Skibo Castle, built by Andrew Carnegie, and sister club to the Carnegie Abbey Club in Portsmouth, RI.

The house is on Castle Street, the main street in the town and designated an historic landmark, and is a 19th century stone cottage with a slate roof and dormer windows. It was originally the saddlery and cobbler's shop for the town. There is a living room, dining room with working fireplace, full dine in kitchen with all modern appliances, two double bedrooms and two bathrooms. The golf course is a ten minute walk away.

The week must be taken between the end of Oct. 2005 and the end of April 2006.
