Boston Red Sox 1939 Authentic Jersey, #9 Ted Williams

Item Number: 125
Time Left: CLOSED
Description
In 1939, the tall and slender Ted Williams was a rookie left-fielder
with the Boston Red Sox. Williams batted .327, hit 31 home runs, and
lead the league with 145 RBIs.
The 1939 season celebrated the Centennial of Abner Doubleday's
establishment of the modern game of baseball. Teams in both the American
and National Leagues wore a patch to commemorate the history of the
National Pastime. The Red Sox wore this patch on their left sleeves.
They wore this classic jersey for home games at Fenway Park from 1933
through the 1967 season and have worn it again since 1979. Williams'
number 9 is on the reverse. Jersey made in USA of wool-blend, just
like those worn by the 1939 Red Sox.
