Description

One magnum (1.5 liters) Napa Wine Company 2001 Cabernet Sauvignon from their certified organic (CCOF) Oakville vineyards in the Napa Valley.

The philosophy of the Napa Wine Company winemaking program is to let the vineyard do the talking.

Keeping to this philosophy, the 2001 Cabernet Sauvignon received French oak barrel aging to provide the wine with a rich, supple mouth feel and a hint of toastiness. The wine delivers concentrated fruit providing layer after layer of intense fruit flavors of blackberry and black cherry with a blending of a caramel essence and a beautiful spice intensity.

The backbone of the Cabernet Sauvignon is the fruit we harvested from our Rock Cairn vineyard, 32 acres uniquely nestled in the western hills of Oakville. Rock Cairn was a name given the hill surrounding the vineyard by the Native Americans who traveled the Valley long before a grapevine was ever planted. During their trading treks, the Native Americans would travel over the hill and deposit a small rock on a cairn, saying a prayer for safe travel.
