About the photographer:
Amy McRoberts is a San Francisco Bay Area artist whose creative interests have journeyed through clay work to interior and graphic design and most recently, photography . Amy graduated from the University of Puget Sound in Washington (BFA in Studio Art '99).

From 1995-2001 Amy's creative interests included all medias, but found particular resonance with hand-building in that clay provided a surface on which to communicate an idea. Her sculptural pieces echo stories of life; the clay gives shape to those stories.
For the past six years, Amy has successfully managed her husband's music career, (see Justin McRoberts CD auction item)which has entailed spending extended stretches of time on tour . Inspired by the unique opportunity to see America many times over as well traveling to several European countries, Amy has found, through her camera's lens, a way to celebrate her love of color, form and texture.

What is common in much of Amy's work is her aptitude for seeing life in degeneration. Amy observes the depreciation of things as evidence of life having been lived. Her work also challenges viewers to take a second look at the mystery of anonymity, not as absence and darkness, but in light of what might have been and what might still be. Amy's work explores the idea that Life is found in the breakdown and that emptiness is only the promise of something else.
