Korey comes to MetroHealth with more than 25 years of professional experience, which includes in 1992 founding and serving as president of Medical News Network, a consulting firm created to advise and provide project management services to health care entities in public relations, media training, advertising campaign development and video production.


She began her career in 1977 as a journalist working in radio, print publications and television and served most notably as a medical anchor and reporter for WKYC-TV 3 and a financial and consumer reporter for WEWSTV 5 and WJWTV 8, all in Cleveland.


The recipient of many awards and honors, Korey has earned six Emmy awards for television reporting, four Telly awards for video production, and has been recognized for distinguished reporting by the Cleveland Press Club, United Press International and Public Relations Society of America.


She also has been recognized for her dedication to community service by the March of Dimes, Juvenile Diabetes Foundation and National Council of Jewish Women.


Additionally, Korey serves on the board of the Anti Defamation League of Cleveland, National Sjogren's Syndrome Association and Wigs for Kids.


Korey is a cum laude graduate of Princeton University, where she received a bachelor's degree in English. She and her husband, Robert Kaplan, a clinical and forensic psychologist, live in Lakewood. Their daughter and son attend college.
