Susan Tyler is Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer for Medical Mutual. She provides leadership and direction for the Actuarial, Finance, Financial Administration and Healthcare Finance & Network Management functions. She also serves as Treasurer of subsidiary Medical Mutual Services.


Ms. Tyler joined the Company in February 2002 with extensive experience in insurance and finance. With several years of public accounting experience at Price Waterhouse, she entered the insurance industry as a Manager of Finance with Progressive Insurance. In nearly 10 years with Progressive, she held a variety of management positions including Division Controller and Auto Product Manager. She subsequently served as Senior Vice President of Marketing and then Division President of a multi-state auto insurer. Just prior to joining Medical Mutual, she founded and served as CEO of a startup insurance services company.


Ms. Tyler received a bachelor's degree in Accounting and a master's degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance from Case Western Reserve University. She is also a Certified Public Accountant (inactive).


Ms. Tyler serves as a trustee of Cleveland Scholarship Program and chairperson of Medical Mutual of Ohio Charitable Foundation. She is a member of Financial Executives International, a founding member of In Counsel with Women and a 2004 graduate of Leadership Cleveland.
