The Saturday Studios Program introduces students to the process of art making, enabling students to see their world differently and to engage in it more resourcefully. Course choices are available by grade level and medium, including drawing and painting, sculpture and ceramics, and advanced courses for those preparing a portfolio for college applications. Students learn from one another in an amazing environment situated in MassArt's urban college setting devoted exclusively to the visual arts.



These non-credit courses are open to all interested students, regardless of their level of experience in art. There are no prerequisites or portfolio reviews. Instructors for this program are MassArt student teachers in the Art Education Department under the supervision of MassArt faculty. There is also a no cost parent/guardian group each week providing a wide variety of activities ranging from gallery and museum tours to guest speakers and to art-making sessions. This group provides parents and guardians with a wonderful opportunity to connect with their children on art-related issues.
