* Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley 1983. -- Full throttle Cabernet with a ripe core of cassis, currant, plum and cherry packed together with overtones of cedar, caramel and spice. It's fleshy up front, then becoming tannic. Very fine balance. Wine Spectator rating -- 90.


* Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley 1984. -- Rich and supple, with generous black cherry and currant flavors that are crisp and tart on the finish. Tannins are smooth yet firm. Wine Spectator rating -- 87.

* Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley 1985. -- Rich and fruity, with lively raspberry, cherry, currant and anise flavors that are nicely seasoned by spicy, toasty oak notes. It's a wonderful balance of ripe fruit and supple, gentle tannins. Delicious. Wine Spectator rating -- 90.

* Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley 1986. -- Well balanced, as the ripe cherry and plum flavors show through quite well and the tannins and oak flavors are in check. The fruit flavor is still strong on the finish, too. 1986 California Cabernet horizontal. Wine Spectator rating -- 89.
