Description

Bond Estates Wine 2001 -- 3 bottles total. BOND: A stable of Napa Valley thoroughbreds -- ultimately six Cabernet-based wines -- assembled under the umbrella of one philosophy, one facility and one mark. Created in partnership with proprietors of select Napa Valley hillside vineyards, BOND is the covenant and shared commitment to produce only the best expression of the land. At BOND, each wine has its own cellar under one roof in which to develop its individual character and singular expression of place.

* Melbury Napa Valley Red Wine, 2001 -- Dark, rich and plush, with a syrupy, concentrated core of currant, plum and blackberry fruit that's sharply defined, with generous mocha-scented oak, mixing power with restraint and elegance with finesse. Best from 2006 through 2013. Wine Spectator rating -- 93.

* St. Eden Napa Valley Red Wine, 2001 -- A deep, rich, plush and concentrated wine, exhibiting a wide range of pure, ripe, spicy wild berry, black cherry, currant and plum, finishing with ripe, integrated tannins and a long, rich, persistent finish that echoes fruit and espresso bean. Best from 2006 through 2012. Wine Spectator rating -- 94.

* Vecina Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon, 2001 -- Wonderful purity of fruit, depth and richness, with layers of loamy currant, black cherry and blackberry fruit that's dense and concentrated, finishing with a long, luxurious aftertaste and a wall of ripe, potent tannins. Best from 2006 through 2012. Wine Spectator rating -- 94.
