Description

The Pullins Family of Champaign Berry Farm near Urbana, Ohio recall farm activities of years past with a couple of antique farm tools. One tool is an auger, employed to make holes in wooden beams used in tongue, groove and peg assembly techniques to construct many of the barns constructed across the Buckeye State. The other is a pair of shears. Although used by a farmer mainly to clip sheep's wool in the early spring, these types of shears saw other uses. Farm wives used them to trim high grass near the fencerow, as well as trimming a farm boy's hair before church and school. Both tools would make welcome additions and conversation pieces to any room with an antique, rustic or farm décor.
