Description

One of a kind framed monoprint by artist LINDA SHELP. She is a Sonoma County artist, moved from Los Angeles seven years ago, originally from Kansas City,Missouri. Received B.F.A. from the Kansas City Art Institute in 1973. Moved to Santa Monica,California in 1976 to work on a large scale museum project "The Dinner Party", with artist
Judy Chicago. Continued education in fine art photography and printmaking through out the years in Los Angeles.. Presently working in printmaking, photography and mixed-media collage.

The process of monotype/
monoprint incorporates printmaking, painting and drawing, using a variety of techniques to create a unique one-of-a-kind print. No two prints are exactly the same. The image is developed on a flat plate with oil or water based mediums, and then transferred to another surface, usually paper. The transfer can be made by hand or with a press. I use an etching press, in which the plate and paper are placed on the press bed and mechanically moved under rollers to produce a print.
