Susana Alvarez is a REACH advisory board member and has been a practicing pediatrician for over twenty five years. Alvarez says, "I have always worked in pediatrics with a Public Health orientation, thinking of changes in the population as a whole as I continue to follow individual families. Additionally, I have worked to prevent and eradicate violence in families since I became a doctor." Alvarez is also an artist, who has been painting and drawing for the last twenty years. She trained at the Newton Arts Center, the DeCordova Museum, and with Boston-based artists Nina Bohlen and Hank Kearsley. Her favorite subjects are Burmese and Thai puppets, the human figure, and tango dancers--a memory of her birth country, Argentina.
