Tina Basich is a professional snowboarder, TV host, author, designer, artist, and co-founder of the nonprofit organization Boarding for Breast Cancer. Basich began snowboarding professionally in 1986 and has been instrumental in putting women's
snowboarding on the map. She has also helped to spearhead women's growing involvement not only in snowboarding but in action sports in general. Basich landed the first backside 720 at the ESPN X Games in 1998, was one of the first women in the sport to have a signature model snowboard, and helped launch one of the industry's first women's clothing apparel lines when she began designing Prom and later Tuesday Clothing. Basich is the host of a women's action sports television show called GKA, which is aired on the Fuel network. Her nonprofit organization, Boarding for Breast Cancer, has raised over $1 million since its founding in 1996. Basich has written an autobiography titled Pretty Good for a Girl published by Harper Collins.
