Description
Tabitha Vevers is an artist who grew up spending summers in Provincetown, MA and who feels that her time there influenced her artistic expression. She says, "I grew up in an artistic, bohemian family, spending summers in Provincetown alongside the children of other artists and writers. The beaches were our playgrounds, and for a while, a favorite pastime was painting shells and selling them on the sidewalks of the East End." Vevers' "Shell Series," in which she has created paintings on seashells, has earned her solo exhibitions at the Pepper Gallery in Boston and the DNA Gallery in Provincetown. The "Shell Series" also gave Vevers the opportunity to hold residency at the C-Scape Dune Shack on the Cape Cod National Seashore and at the Ballinglen Arts Foundation on the coast of Ireland. Vevers is a graduate of Yale University and the Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture. She is represented by the Pepper Gallery in Boston, artSTRAND in Provincetown, and Kraushaar Galleries in New York City.
