Peter Thibeault is a sculptor and studio furniture artist who lives in Boston and works in Norwood, MA. He received a BFA from the Rhode Island School of Design and also studied in RISD's Graduate Studio Program. Thibeault makes box constructions of playful selections of objects reveling in the sheer joy of form, function, and color. He most often selects objects of play and pleasure such as toy birds, butterflies, balls, game parts, sunglasses, decorative papers, and rubber duckies. Also well known for his furniture constructed of game parts, Thibeault's work is in numerous private and public collections including New England Medical Center, Hasbro Inc., Duke Medical Center, and Fidelity Investments. His work has been exhibited in many museum exhibitions including the Renwick Gallery, the Tucson Museum of Art, and the DeCordova Museum.
Thibeault is also principal of Thibeault Design, Inc., a firm that specializes in site-specific artworks, signage, and interiors.
