Robin Paine, now a U.S. Citizen, was born in Kenya, educated in Spain, Ireland, the U.K. and the USA. She is based in Gloucester, MA. Her undergraduate art training began in the U.K. at Falmouth, Cornwall and Glasgow School of Art, and she received her BA degree in Fine Art from Edinburgh College of Art in 1980. Specializing in portrait painting during the next decade in London, she was represented by the Royal Academy Business Art Gallery and Lynn Stern Associates. She was twice a finalist in the annual Portrait Competition for emerging artists at the National Portrait Gallery in London. Since 1992 she has lived in the United States and received her Masters in Fine Arts from Tufts/School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston in 1995. She is represented in collections throughout the United States and is the recipient of numerous awards. She is represented by Jane Deering Gallery. She currently teaches at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts and the Concord Art Association. She has taught at Montserrat College of Art and the School of Visual Arts in New York and is a member of the Overseers Board of Montserrat College of Art.
