Rachel Paxton received her BFA from the Rhode Island School of Design and her MFA from the School of the Museum of Fine Arts. Paxton is currently represented by the Clark Gallery in Lincoln, and her work has been exhibited at many galleries and museums in the Boston area including the Alpha Gallery, the Zoe Gallery, the Institute of Contemporary Art, the DeCordova Museum, the Rose Art Museum, and the Fitchburg Art Museum. Paxton currently exhibits her paintings in Florida at the Longstreth/Goldberg Art Gallery in Naples and the Allyn Gallup Gallery in Sarasota. In addition, she has been included in exhibitions in galleries in San Francisco, Los Angeles, Chicago, Washington D.C., Provincetown, Nantucket, and Greenwich, CT. Paxton's work has been published in two books, Collage Art, published by Rockport Publishers, and New American Painters, 1998 Northeastern States, published by the Open Studio Press. Her paintings and collages have been reviewed by The Boston Globe, The San Francisco Examiner, New York Newsday, Art New England and many others. Paxton has taught painting and drawing at Rhode Island School of Design, the Art Institute of Boston, Emerson College, and the University of Massachusetts at Dartmouth.
