Description

Leslie Sills is an artist, author, and art educator who has been teaching young people and adults for over twenty-five years. A graduate of Boston University and the School of the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, she has exhibited her work in galleries, museums, and universities throughout the United States. Recently, Ms. Sills won a grant from The Artists' Resource Trust, a fund of the Berkshire Community Foundation, Inc. for her ceramic sculpture. Mobilia Gallery in Cambridge, MA represents her art. Ms. Sills is also the author of three art books on women artists written for children -- Inspirations: Stories About Women Artists, Visions: Stories About Women Artists, and In Real Life: Six Women Photographers. All titles have won numerous awards. Holiday House just published Ms. Sills' fourth book, From Rags to Riches: A History of Girls' Clothing in America.
