Jim Armstrong.
Jim Armstrong joined WFXT in December 2003 as a reporter for FOX25 Morning News.
He began his career in journalism at KGWC-TV in Casper, WY, after which he was
an anchor/reporter at WPDE in Myrtle Beach, SC, before returning to the northeast.
An award winning reporter, Armstrong graduated summa cum laude from Boston University's
College of Communication. In 2003, Armstrong was selected for a Fellowship in
Germany as part of the American Journalist Exchange Program. He has also traveled
to Moscow, Sydney and Melbourne to gain undergraduate news reporting experience.
Kim Carrigan
Kim Carrigan joined FOX25 Morning News as co-host in October 2004. She began her
broadcasting career in St. Joseph, MI, and then anchored at several TV stations
in the midwest before moving to Boston in 1994 to join WHDH-TV. Carrigan has won
an Emmy for her anchor work and was named 'Best News Anchor' for two consecutive
years by Boston Magazine. Carrigan grew up in Missouri and is a graduate of the
University of Missouri.
Cindy Fitzgibbon
Before moving to mornings, Cindy Fitzgibbon was weekend meteorologist and reporter
for FOX25 News. She continues to report for FOX25 News' popular franchise, How
Weather Works. Before joining WFXT in 2002, Fitzgibbon worked in Fort Myers, FL,
and before that WPTZ in Burlington, VT. She began her meteorology career in Bismarck,
ND. Fitzgibbon grew up in New England and earned her Bachelor of Science degree
in Meteorology from Lyndon State College in Vermont. She is a member of both the
American Meteorological Society and the National Weather Association and has been
awarded the AMS Seal of Approval for Television. Fitzgibbon and FOX25 Chief Meteorologist
Kevin Lemanowicz won a 2003 Associated Press award for "Best weathercast."
Doug "VB" Goudie
Doug VB Goudie joined FOX25 Morning News as commentator. Immediately prior to
joining FOX25 Morning News, VB was the host of "The Pit," a nightly radio program
on WRKO, Boston's news/talk station. He also served as producer/sidekick on WRKO's
nationally syndicated radio program The Howie Carr Show. VB grew up in Petersham,
MA and is a graduate of Hamilton College.
Anqunette Jamison
Anqunette Jamison joined WFXT as news reader at FOX25 Morning News. She came to
FOX25 from KVBC-TV Las Vegas, where she was weekend anchor and general assignment
reporter. Prior to KVBC-TV, she worked for four years as a general assignment
reporter at WNDU in South Bend, IN. Jamison is a graduate of Butler University
in Indianapolis with a degree in radio-television and journalism.
Gene Lavanchy
Born and raised in Massachusetts, Gene Lavanchy is one of the most recognizable
anchors in Boston. Before joining FOX25 Morning News as co-host in August of 2003,
he spent ten years at WHDH-TV Channel 7 in Boston, where he was a sports director
and sports anchor. He also hosted Sports Xtra, the popular Sunday night sports
wrap-up show on Channel 7. Previously, Lavanchy held sports anchor positions at
WLNE-TV in Providence, RI and WBBH-TV in Fort Myers, FL, and he formerly served
as host of WSBK-TV's Boston Bruins telecasts. Lavanchy is an Emerson College graduate.
Doug Meehan
Doug Meehan joined WFXT as Boston's first full-time television helicopter reporter.
He covers traffic and news from the air for FOX25 Morning News. Meehan has extensive
field reporting and news anchor experience having worked in cities like Dallas,
Tampa, Austin, Hartford, and Providence. Prior to joining FOX25, Meehan was a
general assignment reporter for WHDH 7 News in Boston. He is a former middle school
teacher and U.S. Coast Guard licensed captain. He grew up in Yarmouth, MA and
is a graduate of Westfield State College.
Maria Stephanos
Maria Stephanos has been with FOX25 since 1997. She was named anchor, FOX25 News
at Ten, in 2002. Stephanos came to FOX 25 from WJAR-TV in Providence, RI, where
she covered spot news. Her career also includes reporting for WCBS radio, WABC
radio, NPR radio and WNBC radio. Stephanos received an Associated Press award
in 2000 for her feature reporting and has garnered numerous Emmy nominations.
Born and raised in Groveland, MA, she holds a master's degree in mass communication
from Emerson College.
