Imagine yourself as the highest thing in the 48 contiguous states! Join Venture Outdoors Founder and Executive Director, Mike Schiller, on a climb of Mt. Whitney in the Sierra Nevada mountains of California. At 14,496 feet above sea level, it is a great mountain to get up high and feel the altitude. We'll spend several days acclimatizing at lower altitudes, then spend 2 or 3 days hiking to the summit and back down. You'll ascend via the standard Mt. Whitney trail or the more aggressive Mountaineers' Route, depending on your ability and fitness. The trip is open to anyone with strong hiking and camping skills and a very high level of fitness. Price includes local transportation, hotels (2 nights), permits and fees, all meals on the mountain, 2 dinners in town. Airfare not included. Dates will be determined by mutual consideration and permit availability.
