Description

A hand crafted folk art rug adapted from the "Toothbrush Rugs" of the Boston Mountains of Arkansas, so named because a toothbrush with a cutout for hanging was used as the tool. Becky uses a smooth hickory stick with a cutout that she found in the woods at her mountain home near Snowball, Arkansas. The rug is not braided, but knotted with a half-hitch. It's approximately 28" by 30" inches and was knotted with pastel vintage fabrics and linens of the 60's & 70's. Each of Becky's rugs is unique, with colors and patterns arising from materials on hand, just as homesteaders in the Arkansas hills created the rugs and quilts cherished as heirlooms today.
