Description

A powerful force in the world of design, IDEO has won more awards than any other design firm and has captured the imagination of the business world. Stanford University has even committed to raising $35 million so that Kelley (founder of IDEO) can create a "D-school," a new design school that may one day match Stanford's famed B-school. Stanford professors in business, engineering, social sciences, and art will teach there.

IDEO has evolved from being a design company to helping corporations change their culture by focusing on the consumer and the consumer experience. The success of their unique and untraditional approach is fast becoming more common. Now your child and a group of up to 11 other friends can spend 1/2 a day at IDEOs' creative and eclectic office in Palo Alto where they will work directly with consultants in "Zero20", the practice that focuses on creating products and experiences for consumers up to age 20. IDEO's client list in this area includes Microsoft, Hewlett-Packard, Milton Bradley, Pressman Toy, Logitech, Sega, Philips, Tiger Electronic and Yamaha. In the "Attitudes in Education" workshop, kids will brainstorm with Zero20 consultants on the creation of potential solutions for current issues facing kids in school by using IDEO's renowned approach to innovation.

One CEO called IDEO "cool but without an attitude" -- this will be a fun and eye- opening experience for any kid who likes innovation and creating things!

12 kids total, ages 13+. Lunch included. Expires December 31, 2006.
