This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for your future doctor or medical professional, or for those Discovery Channel addicts who are fascinated by medicine. ISTP parent and cardiologist at Stanford Hospital, Dr. Lynette Lissin will take a "partner" (min. age 13) along with her for a half-day look into the exciting life of a cardiologist. You or your child will get to view firsthand lifesaving treatments in cardiac medicine as well as see the cardiac intensive care unit in action. The tour includes seeing state-of-the- art machines in use for cardiac care and what is involved in the care of patients with a range of problems including high blood pressure, elevated cholesterol, abnormal heart valves, heart attacks, blocked coronary arteries, congenitally malformed hearts, abnormal heart rhythms and congestive heart failure among other things.

You will also join Dr. Lissin and a few of her collegeaus for an informal lunch in the cafeteria.
