It was Dr. Hoffman's fifth and final flight, the first flight for Scott Horowitz, and the fifth flight (of seven) for Franklin Chang-Diaz. During this flight, Hoffman and Chang-Diaz became the first astronauts to log 1000 hours in flight on the space shuttle.
