Fund-a-need for Disaster Relief, gives donors the opportunity to help those in our communities who need us most in the event of a fire, flood or local disaster.
Disasters such as residential fires occur everyday here in Massachusetts. In responding to these incidents, the American Red Cross of Massachusetts Bay provides immediate assistance, to those left homeless by a fire or other disaster, by providing them with food, clothing, temporary shelter, medication and baby items as well as financial support that may include first month's rent & security deposit to assist affected families with returning to permanent housing.
In 2004 the American Red Cross of Massachusetts Bay responded to 409 local disasters and assisted with the most immediate, pressing needs of 2,955 children, adults and families who were victims of disasters and fires.
Your donations will assist us in being there day or night when individuals in your communities need us most!
Special Instructions
Here is how your donations can help:
$500: Provides a rental and utilities deposit for disaster victims trying to relocate to new housing after a disaster or fire.
$300: Buys bedding and linens for 2 individuals left homeless because of a disaster or fire.
$150: Purchases a crib and baby linens for a child after a fire or disaster.
$100: Provides one night's lodging for a family in the aftermath of a fire, flood or disaster.
$75: Buys groceries for one week for 2 people effected by a disaster .
$50: Provides clothing for one child who is left homeless by a fire or groceries for one person for one week.
$25: Purchases shoes for a child or adult in the aftermath of a fire, flood or disaster.
