NY Renowned chef and restaurateur Matthew Kenney has formed Organic Umbrella; a socially conscious lifestyle company created to promote organic living. Headquartered at The Plant, a 4,000 square foot production facility located at 25 Jay Street in Dumbo, Brooklyn, Organic Umbrella was built around the concept of "vegetable cuisine," a gourmet style of cooking developed by Kenney which embraces raw, vegan and vegetarian techniques.


As the epicenter of Organic Umbrella, The Plant is no mere factory but a destination in itself. An education center for the company and natural living in general, the white open-air production kitchen allows visitors to witness the creation of Kenney's organic juices and prepared food line. Modern and high tech, Kenney also plans to teach cooking classes, and host organic and natural living events and lectures at the facility.
