Barbara is a charter member of the Boulevard Studio & Gallery and is now Secretary of The Newport Artist's Guild. She is also a member of both the Newport Art Museum and the Conanicut Island Art Association. Barbara has been drawing and painting since she was a child. After graduation from college in St. Louis, she furthered her study of art through adult education classes, workshops and university courses in drawing and painting in Missouri, Rhode Island and Florida. Continuing her education, she attended numerous courses and workshops in Missouri, Texas, Florida and Rhode Island and studied for four years under the private tutelage of Anjelo Marinosci, Jr. at his studio in Warren, RI. In New England, Barbara's oil paintings have been accepted in juried art shows at the boulevard galler, Wickford Art Association, Conanicut Island Art Association, Newport Art Museum, Spring Bull Gallery, and the Happy White Gallery. Her work was also accepted in shows in Florida at the juried Beaux Arts Festival and in Texas at the Rockport Art Museum. Retired in 1999 from her career as a RN, she currently resides with her husband in Jamestown, RI. Barbara has five children and eight grandchildren. She paints commissions and pet portraits upon request. Workds previously commissioned are in private collections in California, Florida, Hawaii, Illinois, Minnesota, Missouri, New Mexico, Rhode Island, Texas and Canada.
