Fitcorp was founded in 1979, with the opening of its first fitness center in the heart of Boston's Financial District. Founder and President Gary Klencheski set the goal to provide Boston-area companies with a fitness benefit designed to positively impact businesses and their employees.

From improving company morale to enhancing the health status of workers, Fitcorp was Boston's first fitness company to offer fitness and health promotion programs as an integrated component of a company's overall employee benefits package.
