Description

Saori handweaved portrait -- saori is unlike any other type of hand weaving. Its unique and distinguishing feature lies in that it is woven entirely by persons with intellectual disability. They are free to select their own colors of thread and weave with minimum supervision. This not only creates a sense of responsibility, but also encourages decision making. No two woven saori will look alike. Pieces of Saori cloth are put together to make this portrait.
