Today Arnold Palmer plays a new game -- winemaking -- joining a number of other professional golfers who have their own wine brands. In February, the 2003 Arnold Palmer California Chardonnay and 2003 Arnold Palmer California Cabernet Sauvignon wines were released. They're made at Luna Vineyards in Napa, in which Palmer is an investor, climbing aboard at the urging of friend and golfing buddy Michael Moone, the former president of Beringer Vineyards and founder of Luna. The wines are honest and approachable, reflecting Palmer's personality and regular guy image. While Palmer may not get his hands dirty, he participates in blending trials and has final say on the wines that winemaker Mike Drash bottles.
