Description

Well, sure: You could pick up one of those ubiquitous "San Francisco" t-shirts, featuring all-too-familiar snapshots of cable cars and Fisherman's Wharf.

But how about trying this on for size? In this auction package, you can get your very own, customized, personalized t-shirt featuring you (or a special someone) alongside the film world's so-hot-she-burns young director, Miranda July leaning against PEACE (experience will be detailed upon sale of item).

Sundance. Cannes. SF International Film Festival. Winner of 4 major awards at the Cannes International Film Festival and the Caméra d'Or International Critics Week Grand Prize: July's new film -- "Me, You, and Everyone We Know" -- has walked away with all the marbles. And if accolades in one media aren't enough, July has also caught critical and popular attention for her videos, performances, web-based projects, and fiction.

So, for the lucky winner of this package, July will create a t-shirt featuring your picture, alongside Miranda. And thanks to the marvels of modern art technology, you don't even have to be in the same place with the artist.

A filmmaker, performing artist, and writer, Miranda July grew up in Berkeley, where she began her career by writing plays and staging them at the local punk club. July's works have been presented at sites such as the Museum of Modern Art, the Guggenheim Museum, and in the 2002 and 2004 Whitney Biennials. Her short fiction has been published in The Paris Review, The Harvard Review, and Zoetrope All Story, and a collection of stories is forthcoming from Scribner in spring 2007. July created the participatory website learningtoloveyoumore.com with artist Harrell Fletcher, and a companion book will be published by Prestel in fall 2007.
