Richard J. Brenner is the author of more than 70 best-selling sports books for children of various age groups. Brenner, whose books have sold 25 million copies, has spoken at many elementary and middle schools, and was a featured author in the 1993-1994 edition of Scholastic Book Fairs' annual video. He has also lectured at Stanford University's Publishing Program, and was featured at a children's day promotion at the Baseball Hall of Fame.

His books have won high praise from the likes of Columbia University Teachers College and the Literacy Volunteers of America.
