Description

From the Piedmont region in Italy, Barolo is considered the King of Italian wines. The 1996 Marcarini Barolo Brunate has a 90 point score from the Wine Spectator. A classic year. Wine has been stored in a temperature controlled cellar.

Amarone della Valpolicella is made by harvesting ripe grapes and allowing them to dry, traditionally on straw mats. This concentrates the remaining sugars and flavors. The final result is a very ripe, raisiny, big-bodied wine with very little acid. The 2000 Tommasi Amarone della Valpolicella Classico, from the Verona region of Italy, is rated 88 points. Wine has been stored in a temperature controlled cellar.
