Description

This is a spear point single bladed pocket knife. Blade: traditional 1095 high carbon steel, 3/32 inch thick, with french pull nail slot, serial number 0355. Solid brass barlow style bosters, pins, and liners with "Oil" reminder stamp on off mark side front bolster. Natural moose bone handles (what was one of Thoreau's last two words?). Overall length open, 6 ¼ inches; OAL closed, 3 ¾ inches; blade length to choile 2 ¼ inches. No factory edge---caution, hand honed and razor sharp. Guaranteed for materials and workmanship. All parts hand made by, and all heat treatment of spring and blade done at the shop of Dr. Wm. L. Reid of New Sharon, Maine. Dr. Reid is a life member of the Thoreau Society since 1964, and a handmaker of knives since 1952.
