The 2000 growing season at Spring Mountain yielded a wine with bright fruit, spice, and a hint of mint, with an under tone of earthiness. These flavors combine with quality oak, smooth tannins, and a balanced structure to become a full-bodied wine. The 2001 Cab is an altogether pleasing and satisfying fusion of characters from the three varietals, as well as a beautiful example of the intensity, power and grace of wines from Spring Mountain Vineyard. The 2002 vintage is mouth-filling and substantial; this wine's concentrated flavors position the vintage to age beautifully over time, yet is fully enjoyable now.
