Description

Originally from Georgia, Masa Watanabe is known on the international circuit as a contemporary abstract artist and now, his work has come to Northville, Michigan. Masa is pleased to offer this very contemporary, sophisticated piece of artwork. This one of a kind original piece is autographed by the artist, created on canvas, size 16" x 12" x 1 1/2".

Masahiro, or Masa as he is called, has been called a true Japanese "Renaissance Man." He grew up in the snowy countryside of Niigata, Japan. He moved to Tokyo when he joined the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department, playing volleyball for their semi-pro team. He has a second-degree black belt in Judo and also practiced Kendo for many years. After marrying his wife, they moved to the United States where he has had an interesting and diverse career in addition to being an artist as an actor, radio talk show host and businessman. He also currently works for Asahi Beer, the number one beer company in Japan.

Masa began painting in the late 1980s and says now that his paintings are "honest and clean from the soul." His work has been shown in Tokyo, Beverly Hills, on Melrose in Los Angeles, Atlanta and Detroit. His work was featured at one of the Atlanta Symphony Ball in Atlanta in 2000.
