Yes, that is the proper orientation for the woodcut. Georg Baselitz was born in 1938 in East Germany. In searching for alternatives to Socialist Realism and Art Informel, he became interested in anamorphosis and in the art of the mentally ill. Since the late 1980s, solo exhibitions and retrospectives of Baselitz's work have been presented in Europe and the North America. This woodcut piece titled "Mann und Frau" was created in 1985, and measures 24" x 32." It is edition 14/20, and was purchased at Maximilian Verlag, Munich.
